This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to the 1% Alarm mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Zelles Zalán EV (“we,” “us,” or “our”). 1% Alarm is an alarm application that requires users to photograph a randomly selected household object to dismiss the alarm. This Policy explains what information we collect from users of our Services (“user,” “you,” or “your”), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our Services.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide Directly
Survey and Preference Data: During setup and use of the app, we may collect responses to optional survey questions about your preferences and habits. This data is sent to our analytics provider and is not linked to your real identity.
App Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including alarm settings, challenge interactions, and feature usage. This data is stored locally on your device and anonymized event data is sent to our analytics provider.
Payment Information: We do not directly collect or store your payment information. All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store payment system and are subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
2. Photos and Camera
Certain alarm challenges require you to photograph a household object. These photos are processed entirely on your device using Apple’s Vision framework for object recognition. Photos are never stored, uploaded, or transmitted off your device. They are discarded immediately after on-device analysis.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Services, we automatically collect:
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version. This information is included in crash reports.
Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Services, including screens viewed, features used, alarms set and triggered, challenge completions, and subscription-related events. This data is collected through our analytics provider and associated with an anonymous installation identifier.
Application Logs and Crash Data: Error reports, stack traces, and application logs to help us identify and fix bugs. We do not collect your IP address in crash reports.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To provide, operate, and maintain alarm scheduling and challenge verification features.
- Analytics and Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, understand how users interact with our Services, and improve the app experience.
- Crash Reporting: To diagnose technical issues and fix bugs.
- Subscription Management: To verify your subscription status and provide access to premium features.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
Legal Bases for Processing (EEA Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area, we process your personal data based on:

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
PostHog (Analytics)
- Data processed: Anonymous installation identifier, app usage events, survey responses.
- Servers: Europe (eu.i.posthog.com).
- Purpose: Usage analytics and product improvement.

Sentry (Crash Reporting)
- Data processed: Crash reports, stack traces, error messages, device model, OS version, app version, application logs.
- Servers: Europe (ingest.de.sentry.io).
- Purpose: Error tracking and bug fixing.
- We do not send personally identifiable information (such as IP addresses) to Sentry.
- Privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
- Data processed: Anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, subscription status.
- Purpose: Managing in-app subscriptions and verifying entitlements.
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment card details.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With the third-party services listed above, solely for the purposes described.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any change in ownership via in-app notification.
- Aggregated Data: We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Data Storage and Security
All alarm data, scan history, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using standard app storage. This data is protected by iOS app sandbox security but is not additionally encrypted by the app.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app.
- Analytics Data (PostHog): Retained according to PostHog’s default retention policies.
- Crash Reports (Sentry): Retained according to Sentry’s default retention policies.
- Subscription Data (RevenueCat): Retained while your subscription is active and as required for transaction records.
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at onepercentalarm@gmail.com. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal information.
- Portability — Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Since 1% Alarm does not have user accounts, you can delete data at any time by deleting the app from your device. For deletion of data held by our third-party providers, please contact us and we will process your request.
EU Users: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Do Not Track
We do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or engage in cross-app tracking. Our app declares NSPrivacyTracking: false.
International Data Transfers
Zelles Zalán EV is based in Hungary. Your data is primarily processed within the European Union. Where data is transferred outside the EEA by our third-party providers, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are used to ensure adequate protection.
